Although known for its kitchen items, Williams-Sonoma also sells a very nice book embosser (~$39.95) that you can personalize for your law student, attorney, and/or retiree. One thing to keep in mind, as a law student, you will likely be studying case books. The case books will likely not be too useful after you leave law school. Therefore, we would strongly recommend purchasing used books and selling your books at the end of each semester.
Now, if you happen to purchase horn books or other treatises during law school, we would recommend keeping these as they can serve as useful reference materials. A book embosser is a relatively cheap gift idea for any law student or attorney.
